About

From the author:

Toronto shines with the stories of those who live here. Our people are diverse, imaginative and inspiring.

On the subway, commuters hurry off to work. On the street, children toss a puck around the pavement. Inside, a candle casts a warm glow on a hundred year old building.

In my travels as far as Japan to the west and Spain to the east, I've seen towering skyscrapers in some places and desperate slums in others.

Every city, town and village I've visited reminded me of home. Every conflict I've witnessed abroad exists in some form in our very own backyard – but so does every joy, every celebration.

I want to engage in a dialogue with you, to share your triumphs and challenges with others. I want to show you the city through the eyes of Torontonians young and old.

From Little Italy to Chinatown, Toronto SHOUTS its stories on every corner and on every street.

I hope you enjoy your visit here, as I try to tell some of them.
